Kids' Abnormal Breathing During Sleep

Breathing difficulties in children during sleep is generally termed as sleep-disordered breathing. As a result, the child may experience different issues of sleep disorders such as snoring, obstructive sleep apnea etc. Such disorders disturb the child's sleep and may also interrupt breathing.




The main and significant symptom of sleep-disordered breathing is loud snoring. If your child snores very loud, she/he might be suffering from sleep-disordered breathing issues. Other common symptoms may include:

  • Breath in sharply
  • Mouth breathing
  • Grunt
  • Thrashing in bed and
  • Bed wetting etc.
