Sleep and Different Type of Sleep



Every One need sleep. Normally a person is awake at day and sleep at night. There are two systems – sleep-wake homeostat & internal biological clock – which determines transition from awaken state to sleeping state and viceversa.

There are two type of sleep :- non-rapid-eye-movement (NREM) sleep and rapid-eye-movement (REM) sleep and. REM sleep can be detected by EEG. High-frequency waves and alpha rhythm low-amplitude and eye movements are characteristics of REM sleep. After REM Sleep, person confirm that they were dreaming mainly very bizarre and vivid. People less oftenly dream in NREM sleep. There are three stages in NREM sleep. Brain waves become slower and synchronized when progressing from first stage to last stage.
